My experience spans practising, teaching and researching clinical psychology, with a particular focus on supporting children, adolescents, parents and families.
Dr John McAloon M.Psych (Clin); PhD
Clinical Psychologist | Director
My name is John McAloon, and my primary focus is clinical child psychology. Besides working with parents and families, I also work with adults experiencing mental health concerns and have supervised and taught adult clinical psychology.
I completed my Master’s degree in clinical psychology in 2003 and have practiced, taught, and researched clinical psychology extensively since. In 2006, I completed a PhD that evaluated a range of individual, parent, peer, and mental health factors in the development of adolescent substance use. Some of my research can be found here Dr John McAloon. In the last twenty years I have taught clinical child psychology in universities and public health settings, led child, adolescent and parent-based research, and supervised the clinical practice of hundreds of psychologists.
